It's not always easy for us to get outside. Some days it feels like a battle. I have been dealing with extreme allergies the last couple days and pretty much just feel like overdosing on benadryl and living under the covers until the season changes. One of my many excuses not to step outside. But with an Indian Summer weekend with temps near sixty degrees, it was a must to get out and enjoy the past couple days. And enjoy it we did. Once we got past Sportsman-in-Training's tears from the great car-seat wrestle (do your kids do that!? Major mood killer...) and started out today's little mini-hiking adventure, we all were able to relax and unwind.
Here is our self-portrait attempt. Even photo-shop couldn't hide my poor red eyes and nose. Go away allergies!
My little man grew this week. Last week we had to roll up these pants, this week they are just right.
Being outside always recharges us. I notice a difference in Sportsman-in-Training's attitude after he has had a healthy dose of fresh air and The Sportsman and I have great conversation when we are out hiking around. For those reasons alone it is worth it to battle off that fall hibernation and get outside.
If you live local and want to check out a gorgeous view of the Susquehanna River valley, be sure to visit Highpoint Scenic Vista & Rec Area. It is a easy hike to the top for the tots which is a plus.
