Literally

Some of you have met my little Sportsman-in-Training and know that he is a pretty quick little guy for only being two.

The last couple of weeks he has left The Sportsman and I speechless and shaking our heads numerous times.

Like on Christmas. We were at the in-laws getting ready to open presents and told him he had to wait until his cousins arrived before he could open his first gift. So he waited near the door, and as soon as he saw the cousins pull into the driveway he ran over and ripped open his first gift before any of us could stop him. He just looked at us like... "hey, you guys said when the cousins got here!"

And yesterday on our way to visit family. We were driving through rural Lancaster county. There are a lot of farms with a lot of animals in Lancaster and it smells like it. All of the adults were saying how it smelled like pigs, or how it smelled like cows and Sportsman-in-Training says very matter of factly..... "no, smells like poop!"

Or today. I told him he could put whichever books he wanted into his crib for nap-time. He disappeared for a little while and I finally decided it was way to quiet and went in and found this.

I guess I made the mistake of not saying how many.

I love how literally he looks at life.

  5. LOL! The other day I was putting my two-year-old to bed and when I told her to brush her teeth, she said, "I'll brush my teeth on Monday," since we often tell her she has to wait for things until certain days of the week. They do get very literal!!
