We don't like blowing bubbles. It's frustrating, yo! My little man is three and usually ends up spilling the bubble bottle or can't seem to use the little bubble blowing wand correctly or gets the solution in his eyes... whatever the case, it all usually ends up in tears. And me throwing out the bubbles.
But then I tried this weird looking pinterest idea. Bubble snakes? What?
It was a perfect hot weather outdoor activity and resulted in bubbles (that lasted forever) all over the backyard and lots of giggles. It looked like a blizzard had hit in July. Sportsman-in-Training proclaimed that it was "my best day ever, momma!"
Care to try?
First make this super cool bubble solution.
6 cups warm tap water
1/2 cup dish soap
1/2 cup cornstarch
1 T baking powder
Stir gently until ingredients are dissolved in a flat bottom bucket, a gallon size ice cream bucket works well. Let sit for an hour.
While your solution is resting, make your bubble makers. There are a bazillion variations of these on pinterest, I just found instructions for one that I didn't have to purchase a bunch of stuff specifically for.
I found two old handsoap bottles, cut the bottoms off and washed them out really well. Attach an old washcloth to the bottom. I used a few hair-ties and zip-ties for this.
To use, just dip the bottom of the bottles into the solution and blow away.
Best. Day. Ever.
